First of all I must thank The Daily Show for such an apt description for the coming election and in turn a great description of the entire political scene of America.

The Democratic controlled Congress has raped the working men and women of this country. Oh they try to hide it under the guise of a bipartisan increase of the minimum wage, but in all truth in honesty they are not making any difference in the quality of the lives of these people. Does anyone remember the last minimum wage increase? The price of a movie used to be $4.75, now you are lucky to catch a new release for less than $7.50. Don’t even get me started on the effect on those of us who are lucky enough to have escape the choke hold of minimum wage jobs. Is your employer going to increase your pay? No! That means if you have worked for a year or two and earned merit raises up to 7.75 an hour you just got boned! You are most likely going to be making minimum wage even after all your hard work and dedication to your organization. Now some of us might be lucky enough to get a cost of living increase to offset the raise in the minimum wage, but our status in life will be no better. Gone are the days of the 99 cent 20 oz bottle of Coke; the damn things cost $1.50 now. Gas is already an average of 2.69 a gallon, once the increase takes effect it is likely to top $3 and stay there.
On top of the lackluster attempt to raise the population out of the poverty level, they have passed the highest tax increase in the history of this nation, some $400 million over the next 4 years. We are talking about an average increase of $1,795 dollars a year. These increases will bring an estimated 5 million people with no tax liability back into the fold. Everyone knows that the only way to have zero tax liability is to have an adjusted gross income under the taxable limit. This means that millions of working students will get shafted in 2011. This means that those who struggle to make it at the poverty level will now have to worry about the addition of another expense and potential visit from the tax man (thanks Ardra). I may be bitter on the next point in this twisted fallacy that has spilled from the mouths of the would be saviors of America, but what the hell is up with reinstating the marriage penalty? Is the family not one of the core principles of this elusive mayfly called the American Dream? If you don’t want want to be married that is fine with me, but is it right to penalize me because I choose to spend the rest of my life with one woman? As if this penalty is not bad enough, the Democratic tax increase levels another blow at the American family by cutting the child tax credit in half, raising the tax liability an average $856 for those of us with children (I have none yet, but they are in my future). For the people my ass! Nancy Pelosi and her democratic cronies don’t have the betterment of America at the core of their agenda. They are hellbent on crucifying GW. They are hellbent on abandoning our men and women on the battlefield half way around the world. What happened to an America that waved its flags and tied ribbons to oak trees and showed support for our boys and girls in the military. Granted you have ever right to voice your detest over the war but remember the red in that flag you burn stands for the blood shed to give you that very freedom. Before shredding our national pride even more, remember that you demons of Capitol Hill. Remember these men and woman have given up their freedoms so you can destroy this nation one dollar at a time. Thank God for the election process at least it gives us a chance every few years to put true Americans in office to fix the mistakes of the idiots we have now. The Democratic party sullies the root of its very name. They are not of the people, they are not for the people, they are the underbelly of the American political scene.
